Kirman Lake is a small back-country lake off of Highway 108. It's about a 3 mile
hike down a dirt road to the lake, many anglers either hike the trail or ride
mountain bikes to get there. The most productive way to fish Kirman is from a
float tube though at certain times the shore fishing is okay.

Kirman is populated with both brookies and cutthroat, and has special
regulations (Artificial flies or lures only, barbless hooks, 2 fish limit, 16 inch
minimum). It's not uncommon to catch brookies in the 2 to 4 pound range and
cutts in the 20 to 24 inch range in this incredible lake.

I recently received information that a few weeks ago the DFG
delivered 5,000 fingerling brook trout to Kirman AND that they have
scheduled 25,000 more to be air dropped into Kirman some time in
July!!!!!!!!!! WOW is that great news!! These fish added to the 15,000 or
so that have been put in each year for the last 4 years will really help
Kirman get back to it historical greatness! The future is looking very
bright for this unique fishery!
