The Virginia Lakes area is comprised of three lakes that are accessible by vehicle, Little Virginia, Big Virginia and Trumbull Lake. There are both Forest Service and privately owned camping facilities in the area, as well as rental cabins and boat rentals. The Virginias sit at over 9000 feet in elevation, they are like back-country lakes that you can drive to! The scenery is incredible and the fishing is consistantly excellent.
There is also a trailhead at Virginia Lakes that will take you into the back country, it's a great starting point for some awesome back country fishing, camping and hiking adventures. There's also a pack station nearby if you prefer going into the back country on horseback.
